Community Solar Gardens

Participants can subscribe to a portion of a community solar garden through their utility, or, for Xcel customers, a third-party developer.

Subscribers receive a credit on their electricity bills for energy that comes from the garden.

Solar garden programs and availability vary by utility service area. 

Rules adopted by the MN Legislature are intended to make Xcel’s community solar program more accessible to low and moderate-income households.
