DULUTH, Minn. – Minnesota Power has proposed rate increases that would affect customers across the Northland.

The Citizens Utility Board held an information session to let people know what the impact of the rate hike could be, and how customers can voice their concerns.

“The rate increases are quite significant, especially, more so on low-income people and it impacts their ability to meet their other needs so we think it’s important that they share how it’s going to impact them,” says Carmen Carruthers, the Outreach Director of the Citizens Utility Board.

Minnesota Power will hold a public comment meeting on June 20th in Duluth to get community feedback.
